It has been a long time between drinks for Northcote Bowling Club to produce a Champ of Champ winner, and it is appropriate that the club member to come through and achieve that- is none other than Mike Haggart - aka 'Fish'.

Mike commenced bowling in the 2005-2006 season, and did not take long to make a significant impact on the honours board in both junior and champ tournaments at Northcote. 

By the time he completed his junior years, he had pretty much won every available title at club level, in addition to at least three North Harbour Junior singles championships and one doubles,and included being part of the winning Northcote team in the 2007 Nth Harbour Mercedes Rosebowl event.
There were also many times that he featured in runner up lists in other champ events, both at junior and open levels.

In recent years Mike elected to play his Championship events out of Birkenhead, and despite some solid performances he finally managed to secure a centre title in the 4's event earlier this season.

He returned to Northcote this season to play in the Club Singles, which he won, therefore earning the right to represent Northcote in the Champ of Champ singles.

He won the final on Sunday, defeating Steve Hoeft 21-10.
